Affiliations
The Wichita Alliance of Black School Educators (WABSE) is an affiliate of the Kansas Alliance of Black School Educators (KABSE), and the National Alliance of Black School Educators (NABSE).
Functions of the Alliance
- To support academic achievement for all students.
- To emphasize positive self concepts among African-American students.
- To promote networking and collaboration among African-American educators and the community.
- To support the involvement of families and the community in the education of African-American students.
- To develop positions on key issues which affect the education of African-American students and to advocate on their behalf.
- To attract, recruit and encourage African-American students to pursue a career in the field of education.
- To support retention and advancement of African-American educators in USD 259.
- To establish and maintain a relationship with the Kansas Alliance of Black School Educators (KABSE) and the National Alliance of Black School Educators (NABSE).
